We are honored and over the moon ecstatic to report that Rivers And Roads is nominated for the Best Bluegrass Album GRAMMY. “Rivers And Roads” Won Two 2018 IBMA Awards!

THANK YOU!!! We won TWO International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) awards at the annual World of Bluegrass Awards Show in Raleigh, NC on Thursday, September 27! First Squirrel Hunters won Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year and we thank Rachel Baiman and Christian Sedelmyer (10 String Symphony) and Alison Brown for joining us on the tune and Katie Hartford Hogue for giving us permission to also include spoken words and music by her late father John Hartford. The last award of the show was for Album of the Year and our recording Rivers & Roads won! What a great night! Thank you to Compass Records, to our fabulous producer Alison Brown and to all of our other friends who performed on the recording with us, including Bobby Osborne, Becky Buller, Molly Tuttle, Josh Williams, Justin Moses and Mark Schatz. We also sincerely thank all of the IBMA members who voted for us and who continue to support us on our musical journey. These are our fourth and fifth IBMA awards: we received two awards for Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year and Recorded Event of the Year from our 2014 Compass Records release Country Boy: A Bluegrass Tribute To John Denver and one award for Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year from our 2016 Compass Records release Long I Ride.

The Ozark Music Shoppe

We dropped in to visit our good buds the Chapmans at their store in Springfield, MO, called The Acoustic Shoppe. We had an absolute blast recording an episode of their video series The Ozark Music Shoppe – you can see it here:

Great New Year

We were very happy to find a fantastic review of our new recording “Long I Ride” in the December 2016 issue of the renowned bluegrass periodical Bluegrass Unlimited and another great review by our good friend/banjo maestro Tom Adams in the January issue of Banjo Newsletter. Excerpts from the reviews are posted on the Reviews page. We were also very pleased to see that the song “Long I Ride” moved up to #8 on the National Bluegrass Survey in BU, that the “Long I Ride” album moved up to #8 on the Top 15 Bluegrass Albums chart in BU and that the song “Long I Ride” was included at #12 in the Bluegrass Today Top 30 bluegrass songs for 2016 list. What a fine way to begin the New Year!
